About EK Outreach Services

Our mission is to re-engage students in education. EK Outreach Services is a SEND tuition service providing educational support to Local Authorities and Schools. Our trained and dedicated staff are led by a skilled and experienced leadership team. We work with children and young people aged 5 to 25.

Students can be taught at their homes, in public settings such as libraries or wherever they feel comfortable. They also have the opportunity to use vocational facilities. Our aim is to improve the learning outcomes of children and young people for whom education is a challenge due to their SEND needs, SEMH needs, or other reasons which may prevent them from fully accessing education.

FAQs

Do you hold exams? What if they struggle to leave the home?

Yes, we hold exams including but not limited to Functional Skills, GCSE’s, A Levels, BTEC, Level 2 and 3 Access Courses. Depending on the child’s needs and access arrangements, these can sometimes be taken in the home setting under exam conditions.

What needs do you work with?

We work with a variety of needs including but not limited to dyslexia, dyspraxia, mental health, ADHD, ADD, ASD, ODD, OCD, medical needs, those with communication difficulties, eating disorders, EBD, cognition and learning difficulties, social, emotional, and health difficulties, and sensory and/or physical needs.

What if the student doesn't hold an EHCP?

If the EHCP is in process, we can look into starting admission with us. However, if the student does not hold an EHCP,  our advice is always to start the process of applying for an EHCP assessment through the parent or school setting. If this is not possible, there are sometimes other agencies that will allow us to work with the student.

Do they have lessons with other children?

In the main, our pupils are taught 2:1, however there are opportunities to work with peers outside of academic lessons.

Do you have social activities where they can meet their peers?

Yes, we encourage our students to interact with and support each other at our internal events such as our Winter Showcase talent show, Awards Evening, and Sports Day.

Can lessons take place outside of the home?

This is possible once our staff have established a rapport with the student.

Can your staff take them out of the house?

Where we are able to work 2:1 with students, we are able to take them out of the home to other settings for lessons, as well as for trips with parent/carer permission.

What we do

Pupil-centred provision for young people that goes beyond academics.
